Pairing: Kyle/Jason

Summary: So it’s not going to last forever. It doesn’t actually have to.
Notes: I…actually don’t mind writing these two that much. They don’t have to be endgame. Sometimes it just feels nice to have another body next to yours.
He knows for a fact that it probably won’t work for that long, especially when Donna’s not in the equation, but that doesn’t stop Jason from having fun with Kyle. It doesn’t stop him from leaning in and making totally NOT embarrassing noises when Kyle’s hand slips down the front of his pants, and it doesn’t stop him from sucking on the olive skin of Kyle’s neck. It doesn’t. Because not everything has to last forever.
Didn’t a poet say that sometimes it’s okay to have experienced love and lost it than to never have gotten the hang of it at all? Jason’s not sure—he hasn’t been paying attention in English lately, and to be honest, there are more interesting poets out there that talk about how much they like the feel of another person’s body.
Right now, that’s kind of what’s going through Jason’s mind. He likes the fact that Kyle has really strong feeling arms and this incredible dexterity in his fingers that probably comes from penning so many short comic strips and larger pieces of artwork. More than that, he likes the way Kyle has him pressed into the bed sheets (they’re a lower thread count than what’s at the Manor, but still higher than way back when Jason was in a fucking foster home, so it’s really not that terrible even if Kyle keeps apologizing for it).
“Don’t say you’re sorry,” he says finally, flipping the tables and pushing himself on top of Kyle. He looks down at him before nuzzling his face into the older man’s neck. “I just really want to do this and I can’t if you keep—” he makes a face and tries to wiggle his socks off. “Just don’t? I don’t really want to deal with that.”
“Yeah, I get it.” He kind of thinks that Kyle might, that he might understand what it is that Jason’s actually trying to say. At least, he hopes that’s the case, because he’s definitely not going to press any further into it.
